Great things are happening at St. Alban and we’re on fire with the Holy Spirit!

Let's spread the news of how God is working in our parish. Feel welcomed to join us in any of our ventures….

Parish Announcements

  • Blake Barrow, Executive Director of the Rescue Mission of El Paso, says that the Corner of Hope needs the following items: towels, shampoo, soap, coffee, laundry detergent, socks, shoes, & blue jeans.

The Rescue Mission of El Paso models Jesus to the community by providing love, compassion, humble and selfless service to the needy and disabled in a safe and nurturing environment.

  • Wednesday night follow-ups include getting a group together to go have lunch at the Mustard Seed CafĂ© located at 201 E. Sunset Rd. El Paso, TX 79922.

The Mustard Seed Café is a nonprofit, donation-based café that tells and demonstrates the love of Jesus to every single person who comes through the doors!

They serve delicious, nutritious food with an accompanying commitment to recognize the dignity of each guest and treat them with respect. There are no set menus, no prices or requirements for our guests.

The Mustard Seed Café serves lunch Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 11:00am-2:00pm.

  • On March 2nd & 3rd, Jews around the world celebrated Purim. The story of Purim is recounted in the Book of Esther, whose eponymous heroine plays the leading role in saving her people from a massacre planned by the book’s villain, Haman, a ranking official in the ancient Persian Empire.

The Book of Esther is a great read, would make a great movie, and the heroine is the epitome of courage. So, get out your Bibles and read the story of Esther and Mordecai, and Haman. Or just go HERE.

  • Our friend LeAnna Brun writes:

I'm sending a reminder that Camp Stoney Early Bird Registration ends on March 31st. The Early Bird Registration offers a $50 discount on the $650 registration fee. Attached is a flyer you can share with your parish, along with the link for online registration.

Camp is open to all ages for both weeks this year, beginning with Rising 4th graders through 10th grade.
We still need Camp Counselors for the summer camp program.  We train our Counselors in First Aid/CPR/AED and other areas to ensure they are the best staff we can provide to our campers.

Older teenagers (ages 15–17) who are still interested in camp but are too young to be Counselors, may apply to be Counselors-in-Training (CITs). This role allows them to learn from our Counselors and gain experience transitioning from Camper to Counselor. Counselors must be 18 years of age and are paid based on their experience as Camp Counselors.

  • Please consider volunteering to keep our fish pond clean.

Cleaning the filter doesn't take long at all, it’s quick and easy work, every 2 or 3 weeks. Helping to skim out leaves can take a few minutes on a Sunday.

If you want to help, please contact Fr. Jim at diegotolbert@gmail.com or Jed at jedleachman@sbcglobal.net

You can also email St. Alban’s office at stalbans.elpaso@gmail.com

We really need the help. Danny's back is worsening and Larry and Bill have moved out of town.

By the way, have you seen our eight goldfish yet? Take a peek.

  • Now is the time to be praying about and planning your Lenten disciplines. For that reason Fr. Jim asked ChatGPT about some ideas for Lenten disciplines.

He could have created a far larger booklet but we’ll leave it up to you to take it even further with whatever AI app you use through more personal questions.

You can check the document Fr. Jim Tolbert generated through AI right over HERE.

  • Every Ash Wednesday Fr. Jim reads the short Ash Wednesday Homily of St. Peter Chrysologus, the 5th Century Bishop of Ravenna.

You will find the text of it on the PDF right over HERE.

It is page 1 of the document. In that same document Fr. Jim commends John Donne's sonnet "Batter my heart three person'd God" on page 7. Beginning on page 34 is a Roman Catholic Examination of Conscience based on the Ten Commandments. If any of you are considering doing the Sacrament of Reconciliation (BCP p. 446ff) with a priest, it's a great guide.

The same document has several versions of the Stations of the Cross which would make for Lenten devotions.

Scan the doc and you may find other readings that you will personally like.

We celebrate The Holy Eucharist every Sunday at 10:30 A.M.
